Nikki Silk… Australian Modern Pointillism Artist
Nikki Silk is a Australian Modern Pointillism Artist, best known for creating Striking & Unique Acrylic Paintings using Pre-Loved Canvases and Frames. Nikki creates her artwork through an intuitive and spiritual process, allowing visions that come to her in dreams, meditation, or spontaneous moments to guide each piece without the use of sketches or formal plans. Drawing inspiration from her French heritage and the Pointillism technique pioneered by Georges Seurat, Nikki has reimagined this dot-based art form into a modern, expressive style that connects deeply with both the visible and unseen realms. Nature, particularly the Australian landscapes she's explored remains a powerful muse. Her colour palettes echo the serenity of sunrises and sunsets—blending warm earthy tones with cool, introspective hues and vibrant splashes of joyful energy. For years, Nikki kept the spiritual side of her process private, fearing it might be misunderstood. But embracing her truth has allowed her to share the essence of what makes her art unique. Each of her creations is more than a painting—it’s a visual story infused with feeling, intention, and the quiet whispers of the universe, encouraging others to honour their own inner voice. Nikki is fast becoming known for creating her beautiful and unique Custom Artwork Commissions, and she is available to take a limited amount of Custom Artwork Orders each year.
Reduce, Reuse & Recycle – Frames, Canvases & Paints…
Nikki has always valued the 3Rs… Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, and she tries to incorporate these sustainability values as much as possible, not only into her personal life, but also into her Artworks and business practices.
All Canvases and Frames that she uses to create her artworks are all sourced from 2nd Hand Markets, Marketplace, Op Shops and Tip Shops. She is also very lucky to be gifted unwanted and pre-loved frames & canvases from Neighbours, Family, Friends and members of her local community.
For paints – Nikki always tries to source a wonderful collection of colours from 2nd Hand/Car boot Markets, Marketplace and also from the “whoops, I chose the wrong colour” paint pots in the clearance section at her local hardware stores.
She absolutely LOVES that she has the opportunity to reuse items and give life back to a variety of different canvases and frames that may have ended up unnecessarily in landfill. In most cases where items are sourced from her local Op Shops, she’s also able to support some amazing local charities.
